Many questions. Exploring new territories, and delivering some returns. That’s our brief introduction to the upcoming 20th edition of the Krakow Photomonth Festival which will start on May 26, 2022. What can you expect?
The first answer that comes to mind is simple: „We don’t know“. This seems to be the most common response to the flood of questions that has been surrounding us in the last couple of months. Yet, the most important question about the basics stays the same – WHY? We will be asking „why“ many times this year. However, not to increase the already unbearable anxiety we have all been exposed to in those uneasy and challenging times, but simply because we believe that those who form important (and bold) questions receive as important (and bold) answers.
What makes the upcoming edition of the festival even more special is the fact that we will be celebrating our jubilee 20th anniversary. During the past twenty years, we have kept asking whether and how photography can change the world and how we should relate to it. This year we are going one step forward. Or maybe even twenty. And we hope to have you all join us along the way.
