The Foundation for Visual Arts and Krakow Photomonth present the official results of the international competition for emerging visual artists. Meet the awarded artists!
After long deliberations and intense discussions, the jury selected 6 winners who will join the official programme of the upcoming edition of Krakow Photomonth. Over the next few months, the artists, together with the curators, will work on their individual projects that will be presented as solo exhibitions. Our festival team is very happy and extremely excited about what’s to come.
The winners of ShowOFF Section 2022 are:
– The submissions covered a wide range of the photographic medium. Projects were submitted from all over the world and even though we each could only select one artist for the exhibition, we saw and discussed many interesting projects and positions – says Inga Schneider, curator and jury member. – Personally, I was very much impressed by the young emerging artists and the questions they ask about themselves, their environment and the medium.
The level of this year’s submissions was very high and the curators decided to distinguish and additionally mention 9 projects as special distinction. Make sure to visit our web page, where we recommend all special mention projects to your attention.
– I have really enjoyed participating in the selection committee of ShowOFF since the quality of the proposals was very high, which made it not easy to select the winners – adds jury member and curator Iñaki Domingo. – I would like to congratulate all the photographers who have entered the contest, in particular the winners, and encourage them to keep working hard on their photographic projects.
