We are happy to announce that the curatorial team, in cooperation with the team of the Foundation For Visual Arts, has selected 6 people who will present their projects in the form of individual exhibitions as a part of the ShowOFF Section of Krakow Photomonth Festival. The Festival is scheduled to start on the last weekend of June.
The session of the Jury was a stormy and intense process in which discussions about the artistic value of the submitted projects were no less important than finding the answer to the question of „Who is a debuting person and what distinguishes them from an emerging creator?” We feel that the once obvious definitions have become completely outdated. In the times of the fast-paced world of social media and the availability of a multitude of competitions, grants, and residencies, choosing the laureates was not an easy task.
Finally, from among 450 applications sent by 361 artists from 40 countries, the jury composed of Elisa Medde, Piotr Niepsuj, Agnieszka Sadowska, Rob Bremner, Aga Pindera, Daniel Muzyczuk and Robert Kuśmirowski, has selected a group of people who, in our opinion, are on the threshold of a creative breakthrough, and participation in the ShowOFF Section will allow them – as we sincerely believe – to fully spread their creative wings.
